CheckHome
The subscription, what it covers, how to cancel it, and what happens to your data when it ends.

This is a translation for your convenience. The Slovak version is the binding one; if the two ever differ, the Slovak wording prevails. You will find it at Obchodné podmienky.

CheckHome is an app for organising a family household — tasks, shopping, calendar, maintenance and due dates, children's activities, expenses and planned payments, recipes and a password vault. It is available as an app for Android (through Google Play) and as a program for Windows.
Using it requires creating an account and a family password, which encrypts the content. Details about the data are in the Privacy policy.
A subscription may be taken out by a person over 18 years of age with legal capacity. Children use the app through an account set up and managed by a parent — a child does not enter into the contract and pays nothing.
First month free, then EUR 9.99 / year
| What | How it works |
|---|---|
| Scope | One subscription for the whole family — all members and all their devices. You do not pay per person or per device. |
| Trial period | One month free. If you cancel before it ends, nothing is charged. |
| Price after the trial | EUR 9.99 including VAT per year |
| Renewal | Automatic, every year, until you cancel the subscription |
| Windows version | Part of the subscription, not sold separately |
The Windows version only works with an active subscription. It is not a separate product — it is the same account on a different device. When the subscription ends, the Windows program stops giving access to the data just as the phone app does.
The subscription is taken out and managed through Google Play. The payment is processed by Google under its own terms; your payment details never reach us.
You can cancel it at any time in Google Play → Subscriptions → CheckHome → Cancel subscription. Cancelling does not stop the subscription immediately — it runs to the end of the paid period and is then not renewed.
Cancelling the subscription is not the same as deleting your account. If you also want your data deleted, do that separately — the steps are on the Account deletion page.
As a consumer, in contracts concluded at a distance you have the right to withdraw from the contract within 14 days. For digital content that starts being supplied immediately, this right lapses the moment you expressly agree to that start and acknowledge the loss of the right of withdrawal — with a Google Play subscription this happens when it is set up.
In practice it is simpler than that: the whole first month is free, so you can try the app with no risk and with nothing to return.
Refund requests are handled by Google Play under its own rules. If Google does not resolve it for you, write to support@checkhome.app and we will look into it.
We may change the price in the future. We will tell you about a change at least 30 days in advance — in the app and by e-mail — and the new price applies only from the next renewal. If you do not agree with the change, simply cancel the subscription before it renews.
After the subscription ends you have 30 days to renew it. If you do not renew, the whole family's data is irreversibly deleted and the members' accounts are closed.
The same rule applies when no subscription is taken out at all after the trial month: the family still has 30 days to think it over, after which the data is deleted.
CheckHome is intended for ordinary family use. You must not use it for unlawful purposes, attempt to circumvent subscription verification, obtain access to other people's data, or load the service in a way that disrupts it for others.
In the event of a serious or repeated breach we may limit access or close the account. If that happens through no fault of yours, we will refund the proportionate part of the subscription.
We do our best to keep the service running reliably, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. There may be downtime for maintenance or outages at the providers we use. The app also works without a connection — changes are synchronised once the connection is back.
Please read this carefully. The content is encrypted with a key derived from your family password, and that key never reaches us. If you forget the password and it is not entered on any device, the data cannot be recovered — not by us and not by anyone else. This is not an excuse; it is the entire point of the encryption.
We are not liable for damage caused by the loss of the family password, nor for your writing a due date down incorrectly or missing a reminder. CheckHome is an aid, not a guarantee — responsibility for your deadlines and obligations remains yours.
Our liability for damage is limited to the amount you paid for the subscription over the last 12 months. This does not affect liability which cannot be limited by law.
We may amend these terms. We will notify you of a substantial change at least 30 days in advance and state the new effective date. If you do not agree with the change, you may cancel the subscription.
Send a complaint to support@checkhome.app; we will deal with it within 30 days at the latest.
If you are not satisfied with how it is handled, you may turn to the Slovak Trade Inspection or use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
The relationship is governed by the law of the Slovak Republic. This does not affect the rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country of habitual residence.
